Drop Shot Nymphing

Our March 18th meeting will feature a 2 video YouTube presentation on Drop Shot Nymphing.  This video is the work of Mike Sandifer, owner of the Northwest School of Fly Fishing in Boise.  NorthwestFly Fishing School is dedicated to providing the new angler and skilled angler the most up to date and accurate fly fishing information available. For new anglers Northwest School of Fly Fishing offers year round classes to give new anglers or anglers new to the area an opportunity for continuing fly fishing education. For the skilled angler Northwest School of Fly Fishing is committed to creating a place where anglers can go to study fly fishing, talk fly fishing attend seminars and have a place to go where fly fishing is spoken.

Mike Sandifer is a teacher of fly fishing who has spent the last 50 years fly fishing the waters of the Northwest, with 20 of those years teaching anglers how to be successful fly fishing.  Northwest School of Fly Fishing is the accumulation of those 50 years of experience and learning.  Mike spends most of his days working with new anglers to make them successful on our waters and with skilled anglers helping them get even better.  Mike is also a skilled fly rod and landing net maker with over 30 years experience creating some of the best dry fly rods, nymph fly rods and landing nets available.

Mike is also the author of three books on fly fishing, including his latest –Drop Shot Nymphing: An Angler’s Guide To Successful Nymphing  scheduled for release this spring. For nymph fishers, the goal is to present your flies within the strike zone. You can’t be a one-trick pony when nymphing a dynamic range of water types and depths. Drop Shot nymphing provides different approach to getting the fly in front of fish.

In this Youtube presentation Mike will dive into the techniques and strategies that make drop shot nymphing so effective. He will cover everything from the history and basics of drop shot nymphing to the nuances of trout behavior and advanced fishing tactics.  Whether you’re looking to understand the drop shot cast or fine-tune your weight control, this guide provides practical advice and expert tips. Don’t miss out on learning this essential fly fishing technique.

If you desire to dine, reservations are required and the cost is $25.00.  Reservations need to be made by NLT Thursday, March 13th.  Click below to make your dinner reservation and pay by credit or debit card. Prepaid reservations will be appreciated.  Reservations can be made for payment at the door by going to SOFF.org.  Unredeemed unpaid reservations will be invoiced for the cost of the missed meal.  Dinner without a reservation is $30 and subject to availability.

The Early Bird Dues Payer Raffle will be held during the business meeting. You do not need to be present to win.
