Umpqua Valley Fly Fishers

Our February speaker is Mike McCoy, President of the Umpqua Valley Fly Fishers.  Mike will be speaking to us on fishing for smallmouth bass on the main Stem Umpqua River. He will cover 70 miles of river from Roseburg to tidewater, telling us about boat runs, bank access, hazards for boating, techniques for success, water analysis, rods and lines and flies.  He will also identify  optional activities on the river and provide a handout with a river map and points  of interest.

Mike is a life long Oregonian, who has fished still and moving waters throughout the Pacific Northwest, as well as enjoying fishing warm water oceans and rivers around the  world.  He has been a drift boat enthusiast and fly tyer for 60 years.  He has also been a writer and photographer for outdoor and sports magazines,   and guided for trout, steelhead and smallmouth bass on Oregon rivers for 20 years.  Professionally he was a physical education teacher  and coach for about 35 years out of Eugene.

If you desire to dine, reservations are required and the cost is $25.00.  Reservations need to be made by NLT Thursday, February 13th.  Click below to make your dinner reservation and pay by credit or debit card. Prepaid reservations will be appreciated.  Reservations can be made for payment at the door by going to SOFF.org.  Unredeemed unpaid reservations will be invoiced for the cost of the missed meal.  Dinner without a reservation is $30 and subject to availability.

The Early Bird Dues Payer Raffle will  be held during the  business meeting.  You do not need to be present to win.
