Purchasing a Rogue—South Coast Steelhead Validation

A Rogue—South Coast Steelhead Validation is required to fish for steelhead in most streams in the Southwest Zone from December 1 through April 30.  This is true even if you are going to release the steelhead you catch.  Several members have reported that they were unable to find, thus purchase, the Rogue-South Coast Steelhead Validation on the ODFW website.  Even if you want the validation to fish for steelhead in 2023, you have to look under the tab for 2024 licenses and tags to find it.  We expressed our concern about the difficulty in finding and purchasing the mandatory Rogue—South Coast Steelhead Validation to the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife.
