Well gang, after almost two years the So. Oregon Fly Fishers are once again returning to In-person meetings. The first meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 21, 2021 at 5:30 P.M. at the Grants Pass Golf Course, 230 Espey Rd.(off of Williams Hwy.).

That’s right, we not only returning to our regular meetings, but we have gone back to our regular meeting day of Thursdays. Add to that a new venue, Grants Pass Golf Course, and things are looking up for SOFF after all this off time. In addition, there is a new caterer at the Golf Course who has assured us that we will be having some outstanding meals, in fact the first meal will be a selection of Tri-tips and Chicken. The cost will remain the same as when we were at the Pub – $22.00 with reservations and $25.00 without at least for the present.

For the evening’s entertainment, Program Chair, John Smith, is bringing in Denis Lee, a noted guide from California who will be presenting a program “Summer Steelhead in Northern California and Southern Oregon Rivers” In reading Lee’s bio, the experience and knowledge that he has should translate into an outstanding program, one not to be missed.

The Board recognizes that Covid-19 (Delta Strain) is still on a lot of the membership’s minds and as such we want to advise you all that the club will be following the strict guidelines as set forth by the State as to the use of facial masks and social distancing as much as possible.

I know that it has been a long time since we have met in person and some of you may have forgotten the procedure, so here it is once again. Reservations for the October dinner meeting and the Denis Lee’s presentation are due by Noon, Monday, October 18^th  and currently I have very few reservations in. Dinner reservations can be made by going to the club’s website www.soff.org and clicking on the dinner reservations button or if you’d rather call in your dinner reservation, you can do so by calling the club’s answering machine at 541 955-4718 and leaving your information.
