December Dinner Meeting

Due circumstances beyond my control, the date of the December dinner meeting had to be changed. Originally scheduled for Thursday, December 16^th a conflict occurred that necessitated that we change the date, so for this month only, the December meeting will be on the third Tuesday, December 21^st. Due to the change I have asked the caterers to kill the fatted calf as to speak and we will be having a prime rib dinner.

Dinner is just part of the equation, the other part is the speaker for the evening and that is Dax Messett who will be presenting a program called “ The Year of the Nomad Angler” which features a different location for each month of the calendar year. Venues include New Zealand, British Columbia, Bolivia, Alaska Honduras, Florida Keys, Olympic Peninsula, California, Christmas Island and Louisiana. Species include trout, steelhead, tarpon, bonefish, redfish, roster fish and even golden dorado. Dax will share photos, angling techniques and stories about each venue. This appears to be an outstanding program, one not to be missed.

I know that the Corona Virus has taken its toll on the membership and some of you may have forgotten the procedure, so here it is once again. Reservations for the December dinner meeting and the Dax Messett’s presentation are due by Noon, Friday, December 17^th  and currently I have very few reservations in. Dinner reservations can be made by going to the club’s website www.soff.org and clicking on the dinner reservations button or if you’d rather call in your dinner reservation, you can do so by calling the club’s answering machine at 541 955-4718 and leaving your information.
