April and Early-May Outings

The club will be assessing the status and recommendations related to the Coronavirus and making changes to the outing schedule as appropriate.  As I write this in mid-March, the outing to Bass Lake scheduled for April 8 is expected to go on as planned.  We are expecting this outing will have a relatively small number of participants, and it should be easy for us to enjoy the outing while maintaining an appropriate degree of separation.  During the outing, participants should take appropriate precautions to prevent the spread of the virus, and  obviously, anyone potentially exposed or feeling ill should stay home.  More information about this outing can be found in the March newsletter.
The fate of the outing to Copeland’s Pond will be determined as we get closer to the scheduled date of May 2.  This outing always attracts a large number of participants, and we have always had a potluck barbeque.  It is probably overly optimistic to think things will be getting back to normal by early May, so there is a real possibility that this popular outing will have to be modified or cancelled.  We will send out an announcement concerning the outing by mid-April.
I look forward to seeing everyone when the club can get back to a normal schedule.  Until then, stay safe!
